Martina says . . .
I have been writing since I was a
child—an “only” child.
In a time before computers and,
even before we had a television in the house, reading and writing were my
companions. They still are. These last
four decades of my writing life have chronicled what I see in the world, in the
family of humanity, and in myself.
These 100 + 1 poems are my way of
saying “Thank You” to teachers, lovers, friends, acquaintances, and my readers
whose faith in the power of poems and in me continue to stiffen my backbone and
move my pen.
