About the Author

Ibrahim Honjo is a Canadian/Bosnian-Herzegovinian writer, known in literary circles worldwide. He has been writing for more than fifty years. He writes in Serbo-Croatian and English. He started writing poetry at the age of thirteen, and started writing more seriously at the age of eighteen. Besides poetry, he writes prose and aphorisms. His first and unpublished poems, as well as the entire archive, disappeared in the whirlwind of war.

He published his first collection of poems in 1971. To date, he has published 41 books, of which 36 are independently published (26 in Serbo-Croatian, 3 bilingual books in Serbo-Croatian and English, 7 in English and 5 joint books with the following Serbian poets: one with Vesna Kerecki Sarac, one with Tatjana Debeljacki, and three books with Slavica Pejović).

Honjo's poems were published in over 80 anthologies and over 60 literary newspapers and magazines, as well as on several radio and TV stations.
